In early October 2017, Google held a presentation, in which it showed its new smartphones Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Both phones are doing pretty good in the market, but couldn't compete with the performance of iPhone X and Galaxy S8. However, you will say different for the upcoming Google Pixel 3, as it might be the innovation marvel. Talking about the present Google Pixel 2, priced around $ 650, and it doesn't even come with a headphone jack or also suitable accessory. Personally, for us, this is not a problem, since we had switched Bluetooth-headphones a long time ago, but for whom it may remain a defect even in 2018. However, we can bet the next Google Pixel 3 should have a headphone jack, as a lot of reviewers has complained about it.

Google Pixel 3: The beginning of smarter smartphone

Talking about the present Google Pixel 2, priced around $ 650, and it doesn't even come with a headphone jack or also suitable accessory. Personally, for us, this is not a problem, since we had switched Bluetooth-headphones a long time ago, but for whom it may remain a defect even in 2018. However, we can bet the next Google Pixel 3 should have a headphone jack, as a lot of reviewers has complained about it.

Present Pixel smartphone looks classic with dimensions, 145.7 × 69.7 × 7.8 mm; and weight 143 grams feels light. However, going slim doesn't mean to sacrifice a lot. Well, to maintain the 7.8mm thickness Google has to sacrifice the headphone jack, and we expect Google engineer should come up with a design such that the headphone hack could be present. Google Pixel 2 has a display measuring 5.0'', type AMOLED 1920 × 1080 with a 16: 9 aspect ratio. This display is a pretty standard but doesn't show any innovation. From the brand like Google, we always expect something innovative, but Pixel 2 is a functional, performing and a good-looking smartphone but it doesn't make a difference in the market.

Yes, Pixel 2 costs decent money: 64 GB versions will cost you $ 649, and 128 GB - $ 749. This is for the US, and in Europe, for example, prices are even higher, from € 939 for the minimum version and € 1049 for the maximum. Everyone who is paying such price expects something different, present Pixel device performance is satisfactory, but the impression doesn't last because of lack of innovation. Currently, Pixel 2 is available in three colors: black, white and blue. It is worth paying attention to the fact that the power button in the last color will be colored in a turquoise color. Regardless of what color you choose, the front panel is always in black. Little design improvements in the next Google Pixel 3 will, of course, make a difference.

If you will take Google Pixel 2 in your hands, and if you have held the flagships like Google Pixel XL, Samsung Galaxy Note8 and iPhone 8 Plus, then it will seem to be some kind of toy. This impression strengthens the very small weight of the device, at first, it seems that Google deceived everyone and the phone is actually made of plastic, and we hope Google will use metal for designing next Google Pixel 3. It should be noted that the exterior of Pixel 2, is covered with a special matte spraying. This is to ensure that the smartphone was not so slippery, and did not collect fingerprints like glass and aluminum flagships. And it finally has got a dust and moisture protection according to the IP67 standard, and you can safely take the phone at a depth of no more than half a meter.

Google has done a decent job with Pixel 2, but we expect Google not to repeat the same mistake in Pixel 3, we would like to a headphone jack and an interesting display for sure.
